5 Rules for Weight Loss
- Don’t cheat on your diet!
- Be consistent. What’s the point of going to the gym and eating clean all week if you party over the weekend, drink a lot of alcohol and eat junk? You will never move closer to your weight loss goals.
- Nutrition is key. Avoid simple carbohydrates like fruit and stick to complex carbohydrates like brown rice, oatmeal and quinoa because it gives you that “full” feeling longer. Coffee is a good fat burner because it has caffeine in it but only drink it black. Adding cream and sugar just adds empty calories. Stay away from dairy.
- Cardio. Do cardio 6 days per week to keep your metabolism running fast. I like the stepper best because it burns more fat and gives better conditioning for your legs and glutes. Here is an interval technique I recommend:
4 minutes at level 7 then 1 minute at level 11-12 for speed. Repeat this for 30-45 minutes. This technique helps burn more fat faster while keeping your lean muscle mass on.
