Preventative Thanksgiving Game Plan

Thanksgiving is two days away and already I’m feeling fatter.  I know the calories are coming so here is my

Preventative Thanksgiving Game Plan:

  1. Cardio penance ahead of time.  I know the food sins are coming, so I want a head-start on the penance.  I’ve been doing 40 minutes of cardio on an empty stomach since this weekend.
  2. Pre-cooking healthy food to have in the fridge.  Here’s what I discovered about myself:  If I don’t have ready made healthy food available in my kitchen I will eat whatever can be opened the quickest.   That’s really, really, bad.  Did you know it takes 20 minutes to cook quinoa but only 20 seconds to open a bag of chips?  So I will be making up my healthy food and stocking the fridge tonight.
  3. Gallon of water on the counter.  Did you know that hunger and thirst have the exact same feeling?  So if you feel hungry you might actually be thirsty.  Anyway, water helps you feel full and there is a plethora of other reasons why water is good for you, but that’s another post.  I put the water on my counter because if it’s not RIGHT in front of me I will magically look past water to Diet Coke.

So that’s my pre-Thanksgiving Game Plan.  Do you have one too?
