A look ahead and a few updates:
- Do you remember reading about my teammate, Kayln? 9 months ago she couldn’t walk on her own as a result of a rare disease called Chiari Malformation she got after having her son. After her second brain surgery she got cancer. But nothing stops this woman. NOTHING. Today she’s not only walking, she’s running mud runs after chemo and training for her first bodybuilding competition as part of her bucket list. She was given 3 years to live. She means to live them well.

- Update: 2/25/12 – She is three weeks away from her first competition. Her story is starting to go viral, local stations ABC-TV and FOX are pitching her story to interview. It is her dream to make Chiari Malformation a household name. After her competition she will be posting sign ups to join the Chiari Warrior team to raise awareness at a Spartan Mud Run. More info shortly….
- Do you have kids interested in sports? I’ve been trying to figure out a good after-school activity for my five-year-old daughter, Rylee. (Read about my dilemma here: Kids, Sports and Pressure)I’m excited to be interviewing Laura Roach next week. Her company, OpenSymmetry is sponsoring two local youth events – a Splash-N-Dash and a Kids Triathlon aimed at showing kids that it’s fun to be fit.
- Do you have bad skin? I had horrible acne as a teenager and hated it! I also have friends with common skin conditions like Eczema, Psoriasis and Rosacea. That’s why I’m excited to be doing a book review for The 8-week Healthy Skin Diet by former model, award-winning author and nutritionist Karen Fischer.
Hope you are enjoying your day. Have a healthy mid-morning snack! I guess I better stop blogging now and get back to work. Oh the joys of small business accounting!!
